English Language Teacher
Hi, I’m James and I’m a teacher here at Malvern Online Academy. Whilst taking part in the Erasmus exchange at University I discovered how passionate I was about language, and decided there and then that I wanted to be an English Teacher. I love being creative and designing activities and materials that can be put to use in the classroom; I’ve always found it really rewarding to see students fully engaged and learning in a dynamic lesson.
In my free time I like drawing and painting.
After completing a degree in English Studies I came to Manchester to start a Master in Applied Linguistics and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I have taught English in Spain and now I am a teacher at Malvern Online Academy, which I think is a great place to learn English whilst having fun! I love working in such a multicultural environment because I feel that I’m learning as much from my students as they are from me! In my free time I enjoy going to music festivals and local gigs with my friends. Music is a great part of my life!

Hi I’m Anna, a teacher here Malvern Online. I’m CELTA qualified and have been teaching since 2016. Apart from teaching in the UK, I’ve taught in Colombia where I lived for 18 months. When I arrived in Colombia I could barely say ‘hello’ in Spanish, so I know what it can be like to navigate a new language and culture: challenging, but ultimately deeply rewarding.
As a teacher, I help guide our students to develop their English skills and confidence, especially their confidence in speaking. The emphasis here is above all on communication, and all our classes have a strong communicative element.

I’ve always been into languages, I also speak Spanish and a little bit of Swedish. Learning Japanese is a big dream of mine, but can never find time. I love music and dogs, especially french bulldogs and pugs. I host a weekly radio show too.
Teaching a foreign language is like letting students enter another reality. That’s what I try to do in my classes - first, help students open up, gain confidence, then get immersed in the English language in a fun way. I always make sure each hour of our classes is a fun experience!
